Mindfully Speaking is a growing private practice serving children and families across Scarborough and Durham. We specialize in providing neurodiversity-affirming, child-led, and family-centered speech and language services in a safe and supportive environment.

We are currently looking for a part-time/casual Communicative Disorders Assistant (CDA) to join our team, with the potential for hours to increase as our clinic expands.

Your Role 

  • Carry out therapy sessions under the supervision of an SLP, using a child-led and strengths-based approach. 

  • Prepare engaging materials and session plans tailored to each child’s interests and goals. 

  • Collaborate with families and team members to support generalization of communication skills. 

  • Maintain accurate session notes and follow ethical and professional standards. 

Qualifications 

  • Completion of a recognized Communicative Disorders Assistant program. 

  • Experience working with children, ideally including autistic or other neurodivergent individuals. 

  • Excellent communication, organization, and interpersonal skills. 

  • Valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation (sessions may occur in clinic, community, or home settings). 

  • Clear Vulnerable Sector Check.
